DrawÂing inspiÂraÂtion from the astute lens of GerÂman-born French phoÂtogÂraÂphÂer, the EmilÂia WickÂstead Spring SumÂmer 2025 colÂlecÂtion explores the proÂfound conÂnecÂtion between the phoÂtogÂraÂphÂer and the lives of her subÂjects. The muse and her musÂes. From Simone de BeauÂviour to VirÂginia Woolf to FriÂda Kahlo, FreÂund took inspiÂraÂtion from many noteÂworÂthy figÂures in hisÂtoÂry, cementÂing them forÂevÂer withÂin her own artisÂtic vision through the act of photography.
The colÂlecÂtion pays homage to the dualÂiÂty of the pubÂlic perÂsona and priÂvate world of those phoÂtographed by FreÂund, explorÂing the comÂplex layÂers of emoÂtion capÂtured in her work, by refÂerÂencÂing the colour palÂlette disÂplayed throughÂout the photographs.
The colÂlecÂtion tells a stoÂry of those behind the lens, capÂturÂing moments of hisÂtoÂry, as well as those who comÂmand attenÂtion in front of it.
